Automated reporting for a government agency
A government agency whose divisions work in radically different ways needed employee reports tailored to each unit. We built a report generator that produces the entire package automatically.
The challenge
Working practices vary enormously across the agency, from round-the-clock shift work to ordinary office operations. A single shared report would have hidden exactly the differences management needed to see, but writing one report per unit by hand was not feasible within the timeframe.
How we approached it
We consolidated the survey data into one structured source, defined the report template once, and built a generator that fills it per unit. Every division gets its own figures and its own comparisons, in a layout that holds up even though response counts vary sharply between units.
The outcome
- 132 PowerPoint reports and 42 Excel reports produced automatically across the organisation
- Each division received a report matched to its own working reality, not an average
- The full package can be regenerated for the next wave with no repeat manual work
